A wonderful evening with James and Kate who hosted a dinner party yesterday evening. It was especially a treat to meet the wonderful Finnish pianist Paavili Jumppanen and pick his brain about the Schumann Humoreske!

The first post of the new year is a good one. I got to go out today with my ol' pal and fellow photographer Erick Fox and his lovely wife Toni. I've known Erick since we both worked at the same venture capital firm nigh on nine years ago (or wait, it may have been a convenience store). He's known Toni even longer, and has been lucky enough to be with her for more than ten years now. A wonderful couple--I admire both of them greatly, and I'm happy to see the beautiful life they're carving out for themselves here in the city.
Our trip took us downtown on a pretty chilly day. Lots of rosy cheeks and red noses, but more than enough affection to ward off the worst of the cold.
A post of a more personal nature; caroling at the Frick Art and Historical Center with the Borys Hede Wassayle Quire! Too cold to do anything creative, but worth commemorating. (And we sounded great tonight, if I do say so myself.)
I spent the afternoon with friend and pianist James Iman in Lawrenceville today, along with his lovely wife Kate and percussionist extraordinaire Brandon Kelly. Incredibly unseasonable weather for November, so we took full advantage for some photos.
